Selby Town Football club are delighted to announce the appointment of new first team manager Stephen Bodle and his assistant manager Lee Needham.
With successful stints at Ollerton Town, Shirebrook and Clay Cross, the management duo are more recently known for their work last season at Wakefield guiding them to third. Stephen had this to say: “I’m really excited to get back involved, especially with a club with the rich heritage Selby has, it’s a club I’ve admired for a long time. Selby is a huge club for step 6 with a fantastic set up, a board invigorated for success and a fan base second to none at this level.
We are confident we can cause a few upsets this season and hopefully get us in and around that top half over the next few weeks and then who knows...”
Chairman Dave Haddock stated: “We’re extremely lucky to have received a large number of applications for the role and thank everyone who applied for taking the time to do so. We’re really pleased and excited to have Stephen and Lee join us. Steve not only stood out due to his vast experience and achievements in football, but also because he shared our vision for the club and has a real understanding of how important it is to supporters and the community. We’re eager to begin working with the management team and for the exciting times ahead. Thank you to all of our supporters for their patience in this period of change, I’m sure you’ll all be as excited as we are for future of the club.”
